Alliance-area news in brief for July 30

MARLBORO TOWNSHIP – Marlboro Township trustees plan a work session at 6 p.m. Aug. 3 at Township Hall to discuss the 2027 alternative tax budget. The board then plans a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 3 at the same site.

SEBRING POLICE – Sebring Police Department has announced a Back-to-School Drive for Our Children from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 1 at Williams and Case Insurance Agency, 60 S. 15th St. in Sebring. The department’s community relations officer will be on site to accept donations of facial tissues, cleansing wipes and gallon-size resealable bags.

ALLIANCE PLANNING – City of Alliance’s Planning Commission has canceled its Aug. 19 meeting. No items were submitted to the board.

ALLIANCE ZONING – City of Alliance’s Board of Zoning Appeals will meet at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 18 in the City Administration Building, 504 E. Main St., in the second-floor conference room. Among items on the agenda are an appeal of a request for an auto repair facility at 115 Milner St. from Marc Smith; and a request for a variance for a tattoo studio at 1950 S. Freedom Ave. from Michael Baxter.
