Aldi to open new Springfield Township location soon. What you need to know:

Springfield Township is getting an Aldi.

The grocery chain will open a new location at 2981 S. Arlington Road in the township on July 17, according to its website. The building formerly housed a Staples office supplies store.

Aldi customers can shop the new store on July 16 to get a “sneak peek,” as well as attend the ribbon cutting at 8:30 a.m. on July 17, Aldi’s site said.

The first 100 customers on July 17 will receive a “Golden Ticket” that could be worth up to $100, as well as a bag filled with Aldi products, the company said.

Employees will also hand out a limited number of Aldi shopping totes on July 17. The grocery chain said customers should look for an employee to receive their free tote.

Between July 17 and July 20, customers can scan codes in the store to enter for a chance to win a $500 Aldi gift card.

Giveaways and contest entries have become, at least as of late, par for the course for Aldi which offered customers similar promotions when it opened its 1890 W. Market St. location in Akron’s Wallhaven neighborhood in May.
