Federal prosecutors have charged 15 people – including 11 from Akron – for their alleged roles in a large-scale drug trafficking operation that spanned Northeast Ohio and Pennsylvania.
A grand jury in the Northern District of Ohio federal court returned a 21-count indictment against the 15 defendants, who are charged in two cases, according to a news release issued by the United States Attorney’s Office. Law enforcement cracked down on the alleged operation in April and May.
The two cases include 11 people from Akron, ages 30 to 62, and one 30-year-old woman from Doylestown.
The remaining three individuals are from Pennsylvania.
Charges include conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and other drug and firearm-related charges.
