Archbishop Hoban won the preseason voting for Akron-area’s best high school football team of 2025.
The Knights received 57.89% of the votes cast, well ahead of Walsh Jesuit and Highland, who tied for second with 15.79% of the votes.

Akron-area football’s top team in 2025
Archbishop Hoban (12-3)
The Knights won five state titles (2015-18 and 2020) and finished runner-up from 2021-23. It took eventual Division II champion Avon to knock them out in the state semifinals last season, so a final four appearance isn’t a dream but an expectation at Hoban, which returns 33 letterwinners and multiple top Division I recruits from last season.
