Woman killed in Wayne County crash identified

A 23-year-old Lyons woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal one-vehicle crash in Wayne County.

New York State Police said Delaney L. Murray was the driver and sole occupant of a 2007 Chevrolet that crashed into a utility pole on State Route 104A in the town of Wolcott early Wednesday.

Driver killed in crash

Troopers responded to the crash at about 1:59 a.m. Aug. 12 after receiving a report of a vehicle that had struck a utility pole.

Investigators said the Chevrolet had left the roadway before hitting the pole. The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was separated into multiple sections in the crash.

Murray was pronounced dead at the scene. The Wayne County Coroner’s Office also responded.

State police said the crash remains under investigation.
