Two candidates will compete for two spots on the Webster Central School District Board of Education, an uncontested race for the positions with a three-year term.
Who’s running for Webster school board?
John Barker and Janice Richardson will run for the two openings, with Richardson looking to serve her third consecutive term and Barker a newcomer.
The polls are open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on May 19 at Webster Schroeder High School gym at 875 Ridge Road.

John Barker
Family: Married with two children in the Webster school district
Occupation: Professor at the Frederick Douglass Department of Black Studies and the Susan B. Anthony Institute for Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies at the University of Rochester
Community involvement:

Janice Richardson
Family: Married with four children, including one graduate and three children attending Webster schools
Occupation: Reading specialist at Greece Central School
