This month marks the two-year anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, an invasion that ignited the Gaza war, left 1,200 people dead and 250 hostages captured in late 2023.
Jewish community organizations including the Westchester Jewish Council, the American Jewish Committee Westchester/Fairfield and The Jewish Agency for Israel and UJA-Federation of New York are hosting a commemoration event to remember the attack this Sunday, Oct. 5, in White Plains.

According to details provided by the Westchester Jewish Council, whose mission is to “strengthen ties among Jewish organizations and build bridges with other ethnic and faith-based groups,” the gathering will serve as a moment of reflection and an opportunity to foster unity. Voices of individuals directly impacted will be central to the program.
All members of the community are invited to participate. Attendance is free, but registration is required.
