Guthrie Athlete of the Week candidates are from the coverage areas of the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin, Elmira Star-Gazette, Ithaca Journal and Corning Leader.

This week’s nominees:
Ronin Ault, Waverly baseball: Ault struck out 10 in pitching a 1-hitter in a victory over Susquehanna Valley. He added a triple at the plate.
Reagan Burnham, Dryden girls track & field: Burnham swept the girls 1500-meter run (4:51.19) and 3000 (10:43.91) at the Legends of the Night Invitational at Odessa-Montour.
Logan DeMember, Elmira baseball: DeMember struck out 8 and pitched a 1-hitter in a victory over Horseheads. He went a combined 2-for-6 at the plate in wins over Horseheads and Union-Endicott.
Joey Gennarelli, Union-Endicott baseball: Gennarelli tossed a 2-hitter with 5 strikeouts in a 2-0 win against Horseheads in which he went 1-for-3 at the plate. He had U-E’s lone hit in a loss to Elmira.
Aubrey Howe, Horseheads softball: Howe hit 2 homers and drove in 6 runs in a win over Binghamton after going 5-for-5 with a homer, 2 doubles, and 3 RBIs in a victory against St. Mary’s.
Aurora Parlo, Thomas A. Edison softball: Parlo struck out 12 in pitching a 4-hitter in a 3-0 win over Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour with first place in the IAC South Large School Division at stake. Over five games, Parlo went 7-for-14 at the plate.
Wyatt Richardson, Maine-Endwell boys track & field: Competing at Windsor’s Gerry O’Donnell Invitational, Richardson won the boys triple jump with an effort of 41 feet, 3.5 inches to go with a first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.23 seconds.
Rocco Silsbee, Binghamton baseball: Silsbee tossed a 4-hit shutout, striking out 7 in a win over Johnson City. Later in the week, he went 3-for-3 with a triple and 4 RBIs in a victory over JC.
Ivy Tice, Deposit-Hancock softball: Tice went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles, a triple, and 4 RBIs in a win over Greene. She then went 2-for-2 with a homer, triple, and 4 RBIs in a win over Delhi while pitching a 5-inning 1-hitter.
Gracie Wallace, Susquehanna Valley flag football: Wallace carried 21 times for 179 yards, including a 60-yard touchdown, in a 14-6 victory over Chenango Forks.
