Vote for Section V's Girls Athlete of the Week for April 13-19 presented by Faber Builders

It’s time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.

Your vote will determine who will be the Faber Builders Girls Sports Athlete of the Week for April 13-19. The players’ credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Wednesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Thursday morning.

The nominees are chosen by our sports reporters. If you would like to call attention to an athlete’s performance to be considered for the nomination, please email sports@democratandchronicle.com by 7 p.m. each Sunday. All athletes who play on Section V girls teams are eligible to be nominated.

Savannah Biehler

Fairport senior is the one to beat on the Section V Girls Outdoor Track and Field 100-meter dash season leaderboard after she ran a winning time of 12.32 seconds during the Webster Invitational.

Jessie Crye

Avon softball pitcher was near-perfect in two outings. She pitched a complete game with 16 strikeouts and only two hits allowed in a 9-2 win against York-Pavilion, to pair with a 4-for-4 showing at the plate. Crye then had 15 strikeouts and one run against in 6 1/3 innings against LeRoy.

Ranio Gallo

Pittsford Mendon junior jumped 11 feet to win the pole vault event at the Webster Invitational.

Brynn Henry

Aquinas girls lacrosse player tallied 11 goals, five assists and 14 draw controls across two wins for the Lil Irish.

Calla McCombs

Bloomfield softball player hit for the cycle in a win against Marcus Whitman, finishing 4-for-5 with seven RBIs.

Ajaya “AJ” Orr

Aquinas senior finished with 3 touchdown passes, 2 touchdown runs, an interception for a touchdown and a punt return for a touchdown during two wins for the school’s flag football team.

Gwyn Panek

Waterloo softball player went 3-for-4 with two runs, a steal and a triple in the Tigers’ win against South Seneca/Romulus. With her three-bagger, Panek became the state’s all-time leader in career triples with 32.

Leah Sheridan

Canandaigua girls lacrosse player had the game-winner in overtime of the Gray Wolves’ victory against defending state champion Penfield. Sheridan finished the game with three goals and two assists.

Emma Thompson

Oakfield-Alabama softball player was MVP of the Barker tournament after reaching base safely in eight out of nine at-bats. In the semifinal against league opponent Elba, Thompson went 3-for-3 with three RBIs.

Kylie Wilson

LeRoy softball player had a solo home run, which served as the only run of the game in a 1-0 victory against Avon.
