Vote for Section V's Boys Athlete of the Week for Dec. 29-Jan. 4 presented by Faber Builders

It’s time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.

Your vote will determine who will be the Faber Builders Boys Sports Athlete of the Week for December 29-January 4. The players’ credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Wednesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Thursday morning.

The nominees are chosen by our sports reporters. If you would like to call attention to an athlete’s performance to be considered for the nomination, please email sports@democratandchronicle.com. All athletes who play on Section V boys teams are eligible to be nominated.

Tristan Bellis

Wrestler on the team at Red Jacket won the 126-pound weight class during his school’s invitational tournament. Bellis was named the tournament’s most outstanding wrestler.

Aiden Bryant

Midlakes senior, the 2025 Democrat and Chronicle All-Greater Rochester Boys Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year, produced the season’s best long jump during a meet at Nazareth University. Bryant went 23 feet-6.50 inches.

Noah Collins-Howard

Rush-Henrietta senior lowered his fastest 55-meter dash time of the Section V boys indoor track season to 6.41 seconds during a meet at Nazareth University.

Ed Colon

Mount Morris basketball player scored 27 points during a win over Hinsdale, a personal-best. Colon made 2 of 3 3-point shot attempts and 8 of 9 free throws, while grabbing 11 rebounds and 4 steals. The guard/forward, a junior, also scored 16 points, including a key-point three-point shot, during a 49-47 win over Friendship/Scio. Colon was named the most valuable player of the tournament at Scio after he also finished with 11 rebounds and 3 assists in the final.

Ryan Frazier

Dansville swimmer finished first in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke, and qualified for sectionals in both events, in a win over Gates Chili on Friday. Frazier’s time in the breaststroke was nearly eight seconds better than the runner-up.

Desmond Hill

A sophomore at Marcus Whitman who ran a 1,600-meter race at Nazareth University in 4:27.29, the fastest of the indoor track season among boys in Section V.

Wyatt Miller

McQuaid junior posted two goals and two assists as the Knights earned a non-section win over the Capital District Jets in hockey on Tuesday.

Jackson Peet

Caledonia-Mumford wrestler, a senior, who won the 190-pound weight class and was named an outstanding performer at the Perry Varsity Club Tournament.

Joe Scott

A sophomore at Letchworth who was named an outstanding wrestler after winning the 138-pound weight class at the Perry Varsity Club Tournament.

Aaron Sexton

Webster Schroeder senior went to the top of the Section V boys indoor track weight throw season leaderboard with a distance of 58 feet-4.50 inches during a meet at SUNY Brockport.

Aiden Spakoski

Webster Schroeder forward recorded two goals as the Warriors defeated Irondequoit to remain unbeaten in Section V ice hockey. Spakoski also had an assist earlier in the week in a win over WFL Panthers.

Beckham Taylor

Pittsford Sutherland senior high jumped 6 feet-8 inches during a meet at SUNY Brockport. This is the best jump of the indoor track season in Section V.

Caleb Wood

Aquinas defenseman recorded a hat trick as the Lil Irish topped Penfield in ice hockey on Saturday.
