The Tompkins County Board of Elections will open its new office at 214 W. State St. on Aug. 24, continuing to provide voter registration, absentee ballots, candidate and other election services from its new downtown Ithaca location, the board said in a statement.
The board is moving from Annex C at 128 E. Buffalo St. as the county prepares the site for construction of the new Center of Government. Annex C will be removed to make way for the new building.
The elections board will occupy the former Tompkins County Office for the Aging space on West State Street.
The Office for the Aging relocated to 31 Dutch Mill Road in July, making the downtown space available for the board and allowing election services to remain downtown throughout the Center of Government construction.
“With the November election approaching, our focus is on making sure voters and candidates know where to find us and that election services continue throughout the move,” said Elections Commissioners Alanna Congdon and Stephen DeWitt in the statement.
What voters need to know

Beginning Aug. 24, all regular Board of Elections office operations will take place at the new office.
