Utz Quality Foods has issued a voluntary recall of certain kinds of Zapp’s-brand and Dirty-brand potato chips because an ingredient may contain presence of salmonella, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website said.
The recall follows notification to Utz that a seasoning containing dry milk powder, sourced from California Dairies and supplied by a third-party supplier, may contain salmonella, the May 4, 2026, notice said. Utz is recalling the chips based on the ingredient supplier’s recall.
What consumers should do
People who have the affected products should not eat them and throw away any they have, the notice on the FDA website said.

The affected seasoning batches tested negative for salmonella prior to use, UTZ said, but, out of abundance of caution, it is recalling the following:
