These Met Gala looks are going viral. See who stunned on the carpet

On Monday night, Hollywood’s biggest stars strutted New York City’s most iconic fashion runway at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the 2026 Met Gala.

The annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute was held on May 4, coinciding with the Costume Institute’s spring 2026 exhibition and inaugurating the launch of the nearly 12,000-square-foot Condé M. Nast Galleries.

This year’s theme, “Costume Art,” paid homage to the intersection of fashion and history and explored the “centrality of the dressed body,” according to Vogue. The dress code was “fashion is art,” which opened the door for attendees and designers to use the body as a blank canvas for art.

So who had the best looks of the night?

Here is everything you need to know about USA TODAY’S best-dressed list for New York’s biggest night in fashion.

USA Today’s Met Gala best-dressed list

In no particular order, here is who made USA TODAY’S best-dressed list for the 2026 Met Gala:

Beyoncé

The pop icon, who made her first appearance at the Met Gala since 2016, arrived alongside her 14-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, and her husband Jay-Z. Beyoncé wore a sparkling silver dress by Olivier Rousteing. The dress had a crystalized skeleton overlay, a spiked headpiece and a long feather train. Beyoncé was a 2026 Met Gala Co-chair along with Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and longtime organizer Anna Wintour.

Connor Storrie

Connor Storrie, who starred in the 2025 hit show ‘Heated Rivalry,’ made his first Met Gala appearance wearing Yves Saint Laurent. USA TODAY reported that Storrie hit the red carpet initially wearing a suit, before taking it off to reveal a black-and-white, polka-dotted halter top.The halter top, which had a flowy, almost train-like scarf on the back, gave his look an androgynous vibe, creating a feminine contrast to his traditional dress slacks and suit jacket.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman stunned the Met Gala steps in a red sequined Chanel dress. The long-sleeve gown had red feather accents lining the bottom of her sleeves, which USA Today said made her look both showgirl and high-fashion model. Kidman strutted the carpet with her 17-year-old daughter Sunday Rose. On the carpet, the Oscar Award-winning actress said that her look represented “vitality” and “love.”

Emma Chamberlain

Emma Chamberlain, a social media influencer and model, looked like a real-life painting in her custom Mugler gown by Miguel Castro Freitas. The dress, which looked straight out of a Van Gogh painting, was complete with hand-painted embellishments and her “holographic,” glassy skin, crafted by her makeup artist, Lilly Keys. The internet star was one of Vogue’s special correspondents for the night.

Jon Batiste

Jon Batiste, a Grammy Award-winning R&B artist, wore an all-white ERL suit. The suit combined a puffy, floor-length jacket with a custom ruffle shirt and an enlarged bow tie.

Hailey Bieber

Hailey Bieber, a beauty mogul and wife of Justin Bieber, wore a custom-made Yves Saint Laurent gown. The dress had a sculpted gold bodice with a royal blue skirt and matching cape. The structured top was reminiscent of Greek art, with the flowy cape providing goddess vibes.

Zoë Kravitz

Zoë Kravitz, who starred in ‘The Batman,’ brought Gotham City to New York in her all-black, lacy look. The dress, made by Yves Saint Laurent, had a structured bodice that flowed out from the hips, allowing the intricate sheer pattern to be the star of the look.

Lisa

Lisa, a K-Pop singer and Blackpink member, wore a sheer and three-dimensional gown by Hong Kong designer Robert Wun. The look was complete with a hand-beaded veil, held up by a 3D print of mannequin arms modeled after Lisa.

Rauw Alejandro

Rauw Alejandro, a reggaeton superstar, wore an all-black look by Yves Saint Laurent. His shiny and sleek blazer was the highlight of his look, complete with crystal facial accessories, providing a futuristic vibe.

Patrick Schwarzenegger

Patrick Schwarzenegger, the star of HBO’s ‘The White Lotus,’ wore a Public School New York suit with a streetwear vibe. He wore a leather jacket and matching gloves, along with a traditional white shirt and black tie combo to balance out the two styles in one cohesive look.

Ejae

Ejae, known for her role as the Grammy-winning “KPop Demon Hunters” singer, wore a silver halter neck gown by Swarovski. Her dress had a jewel-encrusted halter collar that contrasted the studded bodice and the sparkly, flowy skirt.

Doechii

Doechii, a Grammy Award-Winning rapper, wore a flowy maroon dress by Marc Jacobs. The draped fabric of her ensemble contoured her figure, balancing the look between sensual and glamorous. Her matching headpiece was made out of twisted fabrics.

Hudson Williams

Hudson Williams, another ‘Heated Rivalry’ star, along with Storrie, wore a baby blue suit by Balenciaga. The suit had heart-shaped embroideries lining both the matador jacket and matching slacks, and a long black train.
