TEDx Watkins Glen will bring 16 speakers from across New York state and around the country to Watkins Glen International on Wednesday, Aug. 19 for a full day of talks, ideas and conversation.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, said Nigar Hale, executive director of the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce. Tickets remain available at tedxwatkinsglen.com
Hale said the program features four themed sessions, SPARK, DISRUPT, ELEVATE and IGNITE, designed to take audiences from the first moment of inspiration through challenging the status quo, reaching new heights and creating lasting impact.
The diverse lineup includes voices from motorsports, entrepreneurship, neurodiversity, agriculture, law enforcement, leadership, science, tourism, communications and the arts.
“We are bringing together an incredibly diverse group of people, experiences and perspectives,” Hale said. “The goal of TEDx Watkins Glen is not simply to put people on a stage. It is to create moments that make people think differently, start conversations and leave inspired to do something with those ideas.”
Hale said together, the speakers will explore topics ranging from human connection and overcoming fear to digital distraction, the future of tourism, space exploration, inclusion, resilience, and the power of creativity.
Day of ideas, inspiration and connection
TEDx Watkins Glen is designed to be more than a series of presentations, Hale said. The full-day experience will bring speakers and attendees together for an opportunity to hear new perspectives, make connections, and engage in conversations that extend beyond the stage.
Hale said in addition to the four themed sessions, the program will include additional surprises throughout the day, complementing a lineup of speakers from the local community, across New York State and around the country.
By bringing together voices from diverse backgrounds and fields, TEDx Watkins Glen aims to spark new ideas and encourage attendees to consider how those ideas can create meaningful change in their communities and beyond.
