The capital improvement project will target upgrades in all district buildings, including the high school, middle school, elementary school and transportation facility.

Interior and exterior renovations are planned, as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing system upgrades. New furnishings and equipment are included in the plan, as well as outdoor enhancements like updated courts, new playground areas, a resurfaced track, pavement upgrades and a new multipurpose synthetic turf field.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Spencer-Van Etten community for participating in this important vote and for your trust in our planning,” Superintendent Barbara J. Case said in a press release announcing the approved proposal.

“Your approval allows us to move forward with essential upgrades that will strengthen safety, improve learning environments and support our students for years to come.”

Funding will come from New York State Building Aid, 2020 Capital Reserves, 2024 Capital Reserves and the Debt Service Fund, totaling $22,596,600.
