Shedeur Sanders and the Cleveland Browns had outgained the Buffalo Bills through the first 23 minutes on Sunday. Then Sanders went out with a bloody finger.

Dillon Gabriel came in at quarterback for Sanders with a third-and-goal from the Bills’ 4-yard line. Gabriel was sacked for 2-yard loss by defensive end Greg Rousseau and Cleveland settled for a field goal.

Sanders only missed one offensive snap. He returned to the game on the next series with his pinky wrapped and taped.

He finished the game 20 of 29 for 157 yards passing with a touchdown and two interceptions, and added four carries for 49 yards in the Browns’ 23-20 loss.
