Rochester seeks developer for vacant lot in East End neighborhood

The City of Rochester is looking to enhance a vacant parcel located in the East End neighborhood as they seek developers ‘to purchase and creatively improve’ the site.

A request for proposals solicitation was issued for 125 Charlotte St., a vacant lot situated between Pitkin Street and North Union Street.

The vacant parcel, which is approximately 0.43 acres, is surrounded by the Charlotte Square on the Loop apartment building and an office building across North Union Street. Other nearby sites include a coffee shop, retail, restaurants and several attractions.

Mayor Malik Evans said this site represents one of the most exciting development opportunities in Rochester.

“Downtown is the fastest-growing neighborhood in the city, with more residents today than ever before,” Evans said. “This parcel is a great spot to explore homeownership opportunities or other creative uses that focus on residential services and community needs.”

The city is currently seeking proposals that embrace the vibrancy of East End and expands on housing, services and creative opportunities for Rochester residents.

The deadline to submit a proposal is Oct. 28. For more information visit https://www.cityofrochester.gov/departments/neighborhood-and-business-development/125-charlotte-street-rfp.
