Rochester man critically injured after early morning stabbing, police say

A 46-year-old man was seriously injured after he was stabbed early Thursday morning in southwest Rochester, according to police.

The stabbing happened on Fillmore Street near West Avenue shortly before 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, according to Rochester police Lt. Jeffrey Pursel.

Officers found a 46-year-old Rochester man who had been stabbed at least once in the upper body.

Man hospitalized with serious injuries

The man, whose name was not released, suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment, Pursel said.

He was listed in critical but stable condition early Thursday, police said.

No charges filed in stabbing

No charges have been filed in connection with the stabbing, Pursel said.

Police are investigating and working to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
