Power outage impacts Central Hudson customers in Cold Spring, Garrison

More than 700 Central Hudson customers in the Cold Spring and Garrison area were without power Monday, Aug. 3, while officials also reported road closures and flooding conditions along Route 9D in Garrison.

According to Central Hudson Gas & Electric’s outage tracker, 740 customers were affected by an outage that began at approximately 11:16 a.m. Aug. 3. The utility estimated restoration at 5 p.m., with crew status listed as pending.

Off the Grid, an outage tracking service, reported 804 customers without power as of 3 p.m. Monday.

Central Hudson had not posted a public update on social media as of 4 p.m. Monday.

Closures and flooding reported in Garrison

The New York State Department of Transportation reported flooding on NY 9D southbound between Old Manitou Road and Kings Dock Road in Garrison, with alternate lanes of the two-lane roadway blocked as of 8:44 a.m. Monday.

It has not been confirmed whether the road closures and power outage are connected.

Residents are encouraged to check Central Hudson’s online outage map for restoration updates.
