The new owners of a historic estate in Sparrow Bush want to contribute to the Hudson Valley region through their initiative, termed “We Need More Love.”
Seeking submissions by June 1, the offering includes the gift of a wedding celebration for one couple at Pine Brook Manor, the newly envisioned, 110-acre private estate wedding venue and boutique overnight retreat.
The owners, the wife-and-husband team of Indiana and Colin Crilley, aim to emphasize gathering and celebration as vehicles for uniting people and bridging differences.
“So much division,” said co-owner Indiana Crilley in a statement. “So much noise. So much constant heaviness. And as we prepared to reopen Pine Brook Manor, we kept coming back to the idea that places bringing people together still matter, and even more now than ever before.”
A welcoming place since the 19th century
In existence since 1895, the Manor property on 1200 NY-42 in Sparrow Bush features the original boarding house, heritage hall, wood bridge, mill pond, water wheel, forest and mountain views, and miles of wooded trails, about 90 minutes away from New York City.
The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Cottage in the Pines in 2015.
The opportunity includes exclusive access to the Manor with ceremony, reception, outdoor and get-ready spaces and on-site coordination support for a wedding celebration for a selected couple, according to the announcement.
How to enter
The deadline to enter is June 1 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
The call is open to United States residents who are 18+ and engaged or planning a wedding.
Interested couples are invited to submit a written story and video with a response to “why celebrating love feels especially meaningful right now.” One couple will be selected based on their shared story and “on authenticity, emotional connection,” according to the announcement.
“We’ve loved reading the entries that have come in so far!” Colin Crilley said in an email.
