The Republican primary election for Ontario County district attorney may have had a higher profile as the only countywide race.
But residents in several towns in Ontario County and two wards in the city of Geneva also headed to the polls for primary elections in local races June 24.
The top vote getters after the primary will run for offices on their respective party lines in the general election in November. Here are the unofficial results from the Ontario County Board of Elections.
Richmond
Mike Baker received 144 votes to incumbent Supervisor Daryl Marshall’s 118 votes in the Republican primary for town supervisor.
Phelps
Incumbent Supervisor Bill Wellman earned 401 votes to turn back Douglas Smith, who received 141 votes, in the Republican primary for town supervisor. Two write-in votes were cast.
In the highway supervisor race, Philip Frere Jr. received 300 votes to top William Poormon’s 241 votes in the Republican primary for highway supervisor.
Gorham
Chase J. Brown with 185 votes and Philip Curtis with 136 votes were the top two vote-getters in the Republican primary for Gorham Town Board. Brian Lazarus received 122 votes.
Voters were asked to select two candidates.
Farmington
In the Republican primary for highway superintendent, Sean Murphy received 229 votes to Martin Halpin’s 222 votes.
Naples
Benjamin S. Hanggi received 73 votes and Timothy A. Stone received 69 votes in the Republican primary for Naples Town Board. Jody Diana Bendzlowicz received 15 votes.
Voters were asked to select two candidates.
City of Geneva
Esther K. Dickinson received 104 votes and Joseph S. Adulte received 26 votes in the only Democratic primary in the county.
Dickinson will run with the Democratic party line in November for the Wards 5 and 6 seat on the Ontario County Board of Supervisors.
