Nyack, Tarrytown Halloween Parades expected to cause traffic delays. What to know

The Lower Hudson Valley’s biggest Halloween events are fast approaching, with both the Nyack and Tarrytown Halloween parades on Saturday, Oct. 25.

But don’t be spooked by parking or traffic! We have all you need to know on road closures and available parking in each village.

What to know about Tarrytown Halloween Parade

Thousands of visitors are expected to line Broadway and Main Street for the 23rd annual Tarrytown Halloween Parade Saturday, Oct. 25 at 5 p.m.

The parade route steps off from Patriots Park at 5 p.m. and will make its way along Broadway down to Main Street, where an extravagant block party with live music, performers and food is waiting.

Roads will be closed in the immediate downtown area starting at 2 p.m. Vehicle access to the inner village will be limited to downtown residents and businesses only.

The following roads will be closed in Tarrytown Saturday, Oct. 25:

The Village of Tarrytown is encouraging all spectators and participants to park at any stop along the Metro-North Hudson Line and take public transportation to arrive at the parade, as parking in the village will be extremely limited.

What to know about the Nyack Halloween parade

The Nyack Halloween Parade is nationally recognized as one of the country’s largest Halloween parades, second only to Greenwich Village’s annual extravaganza.

This year’s parade steps off just 30 minutes after Tarrytown’s at 5:30 p.m. from Memorial Park at Depew Avenue. However, Halloween Parade float and costume contest judging starts at 12 p.m. for pets and 3 p.m. for people and floats.

The Village of Nyack says roads will begin to close arounf Depew and Piermont Avenue to traffic starting at 12 p.m.

The following roads will be closed in Nyack Saturday, October 25 starting at 4;30 p.m. :

Parking at the village municipal parking lot will be disrupted for the showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show in the Cedar Street lot at 7 p.m. Guests are asked to arrive before 4 p.m. to avoid traffic congestion in the village.
