Need a tub of coffee to wake yourself up, New York residents? Dunkin’ is bringing back its 48-ounce iced beverage buckets this month, this time with cup holders for the car.
The drink buckets – which come with a handle and a wider-than-average straw – can be filled with the customer’s choice of iced coffee or a refresher. The tubs are 16 ounces larger than Dunkin’s “large” cups, and hold about the same amount of liquid as a “large” and a “small” cup combined.
Dunkin’ tested the iced coffee buckets at select stores in Massachusetts and New Hampshire earlier this year, and they quickly gained attention online as customers posted videos of them on Instagram and TikTok.
The Canton-based coffee chain then officially launched the drink buckets nationwide just ahead of Memorial Day weekend, with just 25 available at each store.
The oversized drinks, however, were a smidgen too large to fit into standard car cup holders. So Dunkin’ had a solution: custom inserts designed to hold the buckets securely in a car’s center console.
“During the initial market test earlier this year, guests made one thing clear: they loved the buckets and wanted an easier way to bring them along for whatever their day has in store,” Dunkin’ said.
Want to get your hands on a Dunkin’ iced beverage bucket or cup holder? Here’s how.
Dunkin’ iced beverage buckets are coming back. How much do they cost?
The 48-ounce iced beverage buckets will be sold at participating Dunkin’ stores nationwide on Friday, Aug. 7, the company said.
Dunkin’ locations in Greater Gardner include: 6 Gardner Road, Ashburnham; 17 Pearson St., Gardner; 221 Main St., Gardner; 264 Timpany Blvd., Gardner; 4 Oak St., Gardner; 212 Patriots Road, Templeton; 21 Village Inn Road, Westminster; 97 Main St., Westminster; 5 Central St., Winchendon; and 93 Gardner Road, Winchendon.
The buckets can be filled with iced coffee or refreshers and will cost $12.99 each, which also covers the cost of the drink.
They will only be available for a limited time, while supplies last, according to Dunkin’. The company did not specify the number of buckets for sale at each store.
How to get a Dunkin’ iced beverage bucket cup holder
The Dunkin’ iced beverage bucket cup holder is designed to secure a 48-ounce tub inside a standard car cup holder.
The cup holders are currently only available online for Dunkin’ Rewards members with Boosted status, Dunkin’ said. They are available as of July 29, while supplies last.
Rewards members can achieve Boosted status by visiting Dunkin’ 12 times in a calendar month, the company’s website said. Once unlocked, members earn 12 points per dollar spent at Dunkin’ for three months.
Some social media users have said they received emails from Dunkin’ this week with instructions to claim their free cupholder.
Dunkin’ did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday, July 31.
