The New York Giants (0-2) host the Kansas City Chiefs (0-2) in Week 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday Night Football.
Here are six things to know before Sunday’s kickoff.
The series
This will be the 16th regular-season meeting between the Giants and Chiefs since the 1970 NFL-AFL merger. The Giants lead the series, 11-4. Kansas City won the last meeting, 20-17, at home on November 1, 2021. The home team has won four of the past five meetings.
Latest on the Chiefs
Kansas City is 0-2 for the first time since 2014. They lost the season-opener to the Los Angeles Chargers, 27-21, in Brazil and followed that up with a 20-17 loss last Sunday at home to the Philadelphia Eagles in a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl teams.
The Chiefs will host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4.
Latest on the Giants
The Giants are 0-2 for the seventh time in nine seasons. They fell to the Washington Commanders, 21-6, on the road in Week 1. Last Sunday, Big Blue fell to the Dallas Cowboys, 40-37, in overtime at AT&T Stadium.
This will be the Giants’ 2025 home opener. They host the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4.
Who’s hot for Kansas City
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is one of two players in the NFL this season (Daniel Jones is the other) with a touchdown pass and a touchdown rush in each of the first two weeks of this season. Mahomes is 8-1 in his past nine starts on SNF. He needs three touchdown passes to become the fastest player ever (115 games) to reach 250 career touchdown passes. Wide receiver Hollywood Brown leads the team with 15 receptions for 129 yards. Safety Chamarri Conner leads the team in tackles with 19.
Who’s hot for the Giants
Giants quarterback Russell Wilson leads the NFL in passing yards (618), and wide receiver Malik Nabers leads the league in receiving yards (238). Nabers’ 123 receptions are the most by a player in their first 17 games in NFL history. Inside linebacker Bobby Okereke leads the NFL in tackles (26), and defensive end Brian Burns is second in sacks (3.0).
New faces of note
