The New York Giants completed their first round of organized team activities (OTAs) with their third of a scheduled 10 sessions on Thursday at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center.
Starting left tackle Andrew Thomas, who the Giants are relying on heavily this season, practiced two of the three days. Head coach John Harbaugh told reporters that Thomas would be getting some maintenance days due to his recent foot and shoulder issues.
Thomas missed the first two games of last season as he recovered from his Lisfranc injury the season before. He then missed the Giants’ last two games with a hamstring strain.
The Giants have been using second-year swing tackle Marcus Mbow in Thomas’ place, not rookie Francis Mauigoa, who is the new right guard.
Live hitting and tackling are prohibited during OTA drills, and the only pads allowed are helmets.
