The New York Giants took the field on Wednesday for their first of three practices ahead of a Week 16 game against the Minnesota Vikings at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST.
Beforehand, interim head coach Mike Kafka updated the status of several injured players, including linebacker Kayvon Thibideaux, who remains out, dating back to Week 10.
“Just a couple [of] updates on practice. Beaux Collins won’t go today, (Demetrius) Flannigan-Fowles, (Rakeem Nunez-Roches) Nacho, and Kayvon (Thibodeaux),” Kafka said. “Everyone else will be up. We’re opening up Evan Neal as well. He’ll be out there today. It’ll be good to see him.”
Kafka also addressed offensive lineman Evan Neal returning to practice, revealing he would not take snaps from a current starter, instead serving as a reserve.
“Just think he’s ready to roll. It’ll be good to get him out there and get some work out in practice,” Kafka said. “That’s not really in the thought process (starting Neal). We’ve got five guys that are playing their butt off right now for us, and we’re not looking to make any changes.”
