The New York Giants took a significant step toward potentially re-signing veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on Monday, as the 33-year-old reported to the team’s facility for a physical and private workout.
Beckham, originally drafted by the Giants in the first round in 2014, has long expressed interest in returning to the franchise where his NFL career began. In a recent interview with Kay Adams, he voiced excitement about the possibility of teaming with young quarterback Jaxson Dart, describing the opportunity as one he “would love” to pursue.
Recent developments have built momentum for a reunion. Beckham met with head coach John Harbaugh and team executives during the NFL annual meetings to discuss joining the roster. Harbaugh, who coached Beckham in Baltimore in 2023, has maintained a strong relationship with the receiver and confirmed the team is evaluating all options that could improve the squad.
Support has also come from within the locker room, with wide receiver Malik Nabers publicly recruiting Beckham via social media. Former Giants standout Carl Banks has endorsed the move, highlighting Beckham’s maturity and potential as a stabilizing veteran presence and mentor for younger players like Nabers.
After sitting out the 2025 season, partially due to a suspension, Beckham aims to demonstrate his readiness.
A successful physical could pave the way for a low-risk addition on a veteran minimum deal, adding depth and experience to the receiving corps as the Giants build around their developing offense.
