Sports teams have become some of the hottest investments in the world over the past decade, and the trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
North American sports teams are growing in value so quickly, it’s becoming difficult to keep up. The Los Angeles Lakers, who were bought by Dodgers owner Mark Walter 14 months ago for $10 billion, have been resold this week for $12.5 billion.
That’s a 25 percent profit in just over a year. And that’s an NBA team. The NFL, whose 32 franchises are all valued at least $3 billion each, is even a bigger playground for the billionaire buyers.
As Giants Wire noted last month, the New York Giants have been growing exponentially over the past few years. In 2024, they were valued by Forbes at an estimated $7.65 billion. In 2025 to $10.1 billion, a 38 percent increase in just one year.
The above graphic estimates Big Blue’s value at $12 billion, but that could be a low figure, as we estimated them to be worth around $13.1 billion based on the recent sale of the Seattle Seahawks at a price of $9.6 billion.
Whatever the actual number is, the Giants remain one of the most valuable sports franchises in the world.
