The New York Giants will be especially shorthanded on Sunday against the Denver Broncos, downgrading several players, including wide receiver Darius Slayton, to “out.”
On Friday, the Giants release their initial injury report, ruling center John Michael Schmitz (concussion), and linebackers Swayze Bozeman (ankle) and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (hamstring) out against Denver. Slayton and defensive lineman Chauncey Golston were given “doubtful” designations.
As the team boarded their flight to Colorado on Saturday, both Slayton and Golston were left behind.
Slayton suffered a hamstring injury during the Giants’ Week 5 loss to the New Orleans Saints and has now missed back-to-back games. He is third on the team with 12 receptions for 166 yards.
Golston, meanwhile, missed two games earlier this season and will now miss a third on Sunday. He has recorded three tackles (two solo) on the season.
The team’s updated injury report is as follows:
