Nets vs. Pistons betting preview: Prediction, point spread, odds

The Brooklyn Nets (17-47) have notched a two-game winning streak for the fourth time this season after pulling off impressive win over the Detroit Pistons (45-18) and Memphis Grizzlies in recent weeks. Brooklyn took care of a massively shorthanded Grizzlies team on Monday, but the Pistons are a different matter and if you’re wondering where you can watch all the action live, you’ve come to the right place!

The Nets come into this game following a 126-115 win over the aforementioned Grizzlies on Monday after Brooklyn built up a 21-point lead after having a tough battle with Memphis through the first three quarters. Backup center Day’Ron Sharpe had one of his best games of the season with 19 points and five rebounds while guard Ochai Agbaji had 18 points and two steals in his best game in a Nets uniform.

The Pistons enter this matchup after a 121-110 loss at the Miami Heat on Sunday despite the return of potential MVP candidate Cade Cunningham. Cunningham had 26 points and 10 assists in his return while center Jalen Duren had 24 points and five rebounds, but Detroit couldn’t recover after falling behind by 18 points after the end of the first quarter.

Advice and Prediction

The Nets have notched a two-game winning streak for the fourth time this season, showing that this team is capable of playing winning basketball for more than just one game at a time. Granted, Brooklyn has had to pull off a 23-point comeback against this Pistons team, but the difference is that Cade Cunningham is back in the lineup for the best team in the Eastern Conference.

The Pistons are hoping to end this season with a championship given how well they have played this season, but they have hit the rough patch as they have lost their last four games. Cunningham being back in the lineup for Detroit is obviously better than when he isn’t, but there is something that the Pistons have to overcome if they’re going to get back on the right path.

The Nets rank towards the bottom of the NBA in terms of offensive rating, defensive rating, and in pace, but the Pistons are in a different place in their franchise life cycle and it shows in how they performed in those metrics. Detroit is one of the best teams on the defensive end of the floor, but they also rank in the middle of the pack in terms of offense and pace.

Prediction: Pistons 115, Nets 105
