Nets to host Louisville G Isaac McKneely for 2026 NBA Draft workout

The Brooklyn Nets have until Jun. 23 to figure out who they will be taking in the 2026 NBA Draft, starting with the No. 6 overall pick in the event. Brooklyn is likely going to spend most of its time scouting the players they will consider at No. 6, but they will also be doing their due diligence to bring in players who may not be on the draft radar.

The Nets are bringing in Louisville guard Isaac McKneely for a pre-draft workout, according to college basketball reporter Vince Wolfram’s reporting on Sunday. McKneely has not appeared in any mock drafts up to this point in the pre-draft cycle and with ESPN’s Jeremy Woo ranking him as the 89th-best prospect in the draft, it seems that McKneely is unlikely to be drafted at all.

McKneely, 22, has proven throughout his college career that he was one of the best three-point shooters in the country and that became even more apparent during his lone season with the Cardinals. During his senior season at Louisville, while sharing the court with draft prospects in Mikel Brown Jr. and Ryan Conwell, McKneely averaged 10.9 points per game while shooting 39.5% from behind the three-point line.

“McKneely ranks No. 5 in Virginia basketball history with the most made 3’s at 233. He also ranks No. 4 for the most made 3’s in a single season after he made 101 3’s the year before he transferred to Louisville,” Luke Santangelo of Big Red Louie wrote on McKneely. With how important spacing is in today’s NBA, McKneely should be able to give himself a chance to show what he can do as long as his shooting transfers to the next level.

“With two Summer Leagues, with somewhat different rosters, there will be a lot of opportunities,” NetsDaily posted on X while noting that Brooklyn will be participating in the California Classic as well as the Las Vegas Summer League this year. Time will tell if general manager Sean Marks and the rest of the Nets front office is interested enough in McKneely to bring him into the team at some point, but a workout must come before any of that.
