The Brooklyn Nets are entering the slow part of the offseason now that the 2026 NBA Draft, free-agency, and summer league play are in the rearview mirror at this point. Brooklyn has already made most the moves that they’re going to make heading into training camp for the 2026-27 regular season, but they should learn what their entire schedule will be soon enough.
The NBA announced on Monday that the schedule for the entire 2026-27 regular season will be released during the week with ESPN noting that the schedule will be released in parts between Tuesday and Thursday. As FanSided’s Josh Paredes pointed out in his post on X, ESPN’s Malika Andrews will be announcing the schedule for Opening Night and Christmas Day on Good Morning America on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, the NBA will be releasing the entire NBA Cup schedule on Wednesday and that would likely apply to the Nets given that they know which group they will be playing in, but not the schedule. As part of being in East Group A, the Nets will be facing the Detroit Pistons, Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, and Milwaukee Bucks during their NBA Cup schedule next season.
Finally, ESPN showed that the entire regular season schedule for all 30 NBA teams will be released on Friday, which will then let Brooklyn know their entire slate for next season. Given that the Nets are expected to be one of the worst teams in the league next year, they likely won’t be slated to play during Opening Night or Christmas Day, but it will be interesting to see if they will get more national TV games than they did last season.
Brooklyn’s biggest move this offseason was trading for Minnesota Timberwolves forward Julius Randle to pair with sharpshooting forward Michael Porter Jr. to hopefully improve the offense. As was the case over the past few years, the Nets are rebuilding and as a result, part of the interest in them next season will be seeing how players like Mikel Brown Jr. and Egor Demin develop next season.
