Mount Vernon police seek motorcyclist after hit-and-run injures 4-year-old

Mount Vernon police are searching for a motorcyclist accused of striking a 4-year-old child and one of the child’s relatives before fleeing the scene Monday evening.

Hit-and-run reported on South 3rd Avenue

The hit-and-run happened around 7:25 p.m. Monday, June 29, in the 200 block of South 3rd Avenue, according to Mount Vernon police.

Investigators said the suspect was riding a black-and-white motorcycle with the words “LUCKY STRIKE” displayed inside a black circle on the side of the bike.

Police said the motorcyclist struck the child and a relative before leaving the scene. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital, where they remain in treatment for sustained injuries.

Suspect sought

Police described the rider as wearing all black with black-and-white Nike sneakers.
