A 36-year-old Rochester man is in critical condition after his motorcycle collided with an SUV late Saturday night in Rochester, police said.
The crash happened around 11:02 p.m. Aug. 8 at the intersection of North Clinton Avenue and Norton Street.
What happened
According to the Rochester Police Department, the man was riding a motorcycle westbound on Norton Street when it collided with an SUV traveling eastbound.
The SUV was carrying three people and was attempting to turn left into a nearby gas station when the crash occurred.
The SUV’s occupants remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
A 21-year-old Rochester woman who was riding in the rear seat of the SUV was taken by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The motorcycle driver was also taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and remained in critical condition.
Investigation continues
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The intersection was temporarily closed while police investigated the crash but has since reopened to traffic.
