The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department and Detective Lieutenant Sean McCarthy have announced the May 21 arrest of 49-year-old Ulysses Davis, of Poughkeepsie, on the charge of attempted second-degree murder.
On March 15, the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing on South Hamilton Street.
Officers arrived and found a man, who was not named, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Before police got there, the suspect had fled the scene.
The city’s detective division then initiated an investigation, which led to a signed felony information for attempted second-degree murder for Davis.
On May 21, detectives located Davis in the area of 93 Delafield St., and he was taken into custody.
Davis went before a court and was then sent to Dutchess County Jail on no bail due to five prior felony convictions.
However, this is still an active investigation, according to police, and individuals with additional information should contact the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department at 845-451-7577; anonymous tips can also be submitted through the department’s confidential tip line at the same number.
