A closing date has been announced for the KeyBank branch at the Oakdale Commons in Johnson City, where a Chick-fil-A restaurant is planned.
The bank’s lease expires at the end of 2025. In a statement, a KeyBank spokesperson confirmed on July 30 that the Johnson City location is scheduled to begin consolidation with its Endicott branch on Oct. 24. The Endicott KeyBank is at 117 W Main St.
In June, Spark JC LLC partner Marc Newman confirmed the Oakdale Commons was working on a deal to put a Chick-fil-A in the KeyBank location. It was not announced at the time whether the restaurant would use the existing bank building.
On July 29, Newman said once KeyBank has vacated the property, Spark JC “will start the process to demolish the building to make way for the future Chick-fil-A.”
The construction of the Chick-fil-A restaurant is expected to begin in 2026. A second Chick-fil-A is planned in Vestal’s Town Square Mall.
What the Johnson City closure means for KeyBank clients
KeyBank, currently located at 200 Oakdale Mall, will move to 117 W. Main St., Endicott, which is about 6 miles away.
“Clients do not need to take any action as all accounts will be transferred automatically to the new location,” the spokesperson said July 30. “As this process moves forward, our focus is on making any changes as smooth as possible for our clients and teammates.”
