The Ithaca Police Department is investigating a bank robbery at Beginnings Credit Union that occurred early in the morning of Monday, Aug. 3, according to a statement from police.
Just after 9 a.m., police responded to the bank at 409 North Meadow St. for a hold-up alarm.
Officers quickly determined a robbery had taken place and put a suspect description over the radio, police said.
Ithaca officers began canvassing the surrounding area and interviewing potential witnesses.
Police learned that the suspect was given a ride from the area by a person unaware of what had just happened at Beginnings Credit Union.
A vehicle description was obtained, and officers located the vehicle being driven on the 200 block of East Green Street with the suspect still inside. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted, and the suspect matching the description was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was identified as Terrance J. Julian, 56, of Ithaca, police said.
Julian was transported to the Ithaca Police Department, where he was charged with third-degree robbery.
He is awaiting initial arraignment at Ithaca City Court.
