The Buffalo Bills know they will face the Carolina Panthers in Week 8 on Sunday… but are unsure which quarterback will line up against them.
The Panthers (4-3) have been mum on whether or not starting quarterback Bryce Young will suit up against the Bills (4-2) because of a high-ankle sprain. Reports indicate he won’t, but Carolina head coach Dave Canales disputed them… and has yet to name a starter.
“That’s our plan right now—is each day, try to push him a little bit more, see if we can get him out there in a different capacity,” Canales said. “We’ll just take it day to day and make the best decision.”
If Young can’t go, it will be veteran backup Andy Dalton facing the Bills.
Despite not practicing on Wednesday or Thursday this week because of his injury, Young did try to remain positive about potentially facing Buffalo.
“Making progress each day, feeling better,” Young said. “Just trusting the training staff.”
Young was injured just last week. In seven games played this season, Young has 11 touchdowns and five interceptions.
