The National Weather Service says the weekend will start out sunny and end with storms in the mid-Hudson Valley.
The weekend will open Aug. 15 with sunny skies and highs in the low 80s in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties, and the high 70s in Sullivan County.
On the night of Aug. 15, there will be partly cloudy skies, with overnight lows in the upper 50s in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties, and the mid-50s in Sullivan County.
Aug. 16 will start out with partly sunny skies in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties, and mostly cloudy skies in Sullivan County.
However, there is a 50% chance of showers in Orange and Dutchess counties, and a 60% chance of showers in Ulster and Sullivan counties.
Sullivan County also might see a thunderstorm after 2 p.m.
Daytime highs again will be in the low 80s in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties, but only in the mid-70s in Sullivan County.
Nighttime on Aug.16 will be mostly cloudy in all four counties, with overnight lows in the mid-60s in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties, and the low 60s in Sullivan County.
There is also a 70% chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. in all four counties.
