Hornell High School Sports HOF inducting 7. Meet the new members, how to get tickets

Six Hornell High School athletic greats along with a die-hard Red Raiders fan are poised for induction into the school’s Sports Hall of Fame in September.

Robert McIntosh (Class of 1970), Mary Jane “Janer” Mulhollen (1980), Kevin Farrell (1989), Joshua Hoffman (2006), Maureen McAnany (2008), James Dagon (2013) and super fan Luis Angel “Julio” Maldonado will be honored Sept. 19 at the Red Raiders varsity home football game versus Le Roy/Caledonia-Mumford, the Sports Hall of Fame Selection Committee announced.

The 2025 Hornell High School Sports Hall of Fame class will also be recognized at a post-game gathering and at the annual induction dinner on Sept. 20.

Hall of Fame Events: Game time, ceremony, annual dinner details

Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Maple City Park Sept. 19 for the divisional clash between the Hornell Red Raiders and the Le Roy/Caledonia-Mumford Rivals.

The Sports Hall of Fame inductees will be introduced during a halftime ceremony.

Immediately following the final whistle, there will be a gathering at the G. Carducci Lodge, 70 Erie Ave. This is open for everyone to attend.

The annual Sports Hall of Fame induction dinner is Saturday, Sept. 20 at The Main Place in Hornell. A cocktail hour with cash bar will start at 5 p.m. Dinner at 6 p.m. and the induction ceremonies following.

Tickets are $35 per person. To purchase tickets, contact Amy Mayo at 607-368-4764 or Tom Fagnan at 607-590-1299. The deadline for purchasing tickets is Sept. 13.   

How Hornell High School Sports Hall of Famers are chosen

For an athlete to be eligible for induction into the Hornell High School Sports Hall of Fame, they must have competed for at least two years in interscholastic athletics for Hornell and have graduated a minimum of 10 years ago.

The Hall of Fame selects the inductees from nominations made by community members.
