Halloween Safety Guide

Costume Safety

Visibility: Use reflective tape or glow sticks, especially if costumes are dark. Carry a flashlight.

Fit and Flame Resistance: Ensure costumes fit well to prevent tripping, and choose flame-resistant fabrics. Avoid masks that obstruct vision.

Trick-or-Treating Tips

Supervision: Young children should always be accompanied by a trusted adult. Older kids should stay in groups and share their planned route.

Stay on Path: Stick to sidewalks and cross streets at designated crosswalks. Avoid unfamiliar paths or dark areas.

Choose Safe Locations: For a safer experience, use designated trick-or-treat spots in the 19th Ward (listed above).

Candy Safety

Inspect Treats: Check candy for tampering and throw away anything unwrapped or suspicious. Avoid homemade treats from strangers.

Moderation: Limit candy intake to avoid upset stomachs and promote healthy habits.
