Giants' John Harbaugh offers blunt reality check: 'Everybody's tradeable'

New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh delivered a candid and humorous message on Tuesday when asked about Kayvon Thibodeaux amid ongoing trade speculation and the absence of star nose tackle Dexter Lawrence from the start of voluntary offseason workouts.

“I think he’s a great player. I’m excited about him. I was fired up to see him today. He looks great, he’s in great shape,” Harbaugh said of Thibodeaux. “I’m thinking about him on the field, getting him plugged into our defense and getting him rolling.

“You want to talk about is he a trade possibility? Everybody’s tradeable, everybody. Even you’re tradeable, Dan (Duggan). If we can get something for you, we’d trade you in a heartbeat,” he said with a laugg, addressing the reporter.

Harbaugh quickly redirected attention to the bigger picture.

“It’s not really what you focus on. You focus on the fact that we’re having a day, we’re talking ball, we’re getting our team coming together as a team. The business part of it is the business part. That kind of swirls around us. We try to lock in on the football,” he said.

The veteran coach’s comments came as the Giants opened their offseason program without Lawrence, who has requested a trade amid contract discussions. Harbaugh has expressed optimism about resolving the situation professionally while stressing that roster decisions are driven by building the best possible team.

His no-one-is-untouchable stance reflects the pragmatic realities of NFL roster management, even as he emphasized excitement for the players currently in the building and the positive energy of the first team meeting.
