GENEVA, NY — It’s that time of year when Geneva becomes known as a place for garlic lovers to visit — and eat.
Garlic Week aims to heat up downtown Geneva as the city gets ready for the Glorious Garlic Festival on Seneca Lake on Aug. 2-3.
This lead-in to the festival is a delicious and fun way of not only drawing attention to the festival and to garlic and the dishes it inspires, but also to downtown Geneva restaurants and businesses, said Lauren Bohrer, event and operations coordinator with the Geneva Business Improvement District.

Geneva restaurants pay homage to garlic during Garlic Week
Beginning July 25 and continuing all of the following week, local restaurants are celebrating Garlic Week by serving up special garlic-inspired dishes.
“It was an easy one for them to get on board with for sure,” Bohrer said.

Get ready for the Glorious Garlic Festival in Geneva
Garlic Week is just the appetizer.
The Glorious Garlic Festival will be held Aug. 2-3 on Geneva’s lakefront.
The event will feature food vendors, live music, garlic-themed products, artisanal vendors, live demos, wine, beer, slushies and cocktails, along with a new and improved VIP tent.
Not only is the festival “glorious,” but “it’s really a gorgeous time,” Bohrer said.
