The first Levitt AMP Utica concert of the summer will take place indoors at 5:30 p.m. on July 7.
The concert has been moved from Kopernik Park on Genesee Street into Delta Hotels by Marriott at 200 Genesee St. given the heat advisory in effect and a forecast calling for thunderstorms in the evening.
The concert will open with Grit N Grace at 5:30 p.m., youth intermission act Kenny Hoang at 6:30 p.m. and headliner Derrick Dove & the Peacekeepers at 7 p.m.
A local favorite, Grit N Grace blends high country, rock and dance music.
Derrick Dove & the Peacemakers play southern blues rock and have shared the stage with ZZ Top and the Marshall Tucker Band. They have had a #1 hit on the blues album charts and four #1s in nine countries.
The July 7 concert is the first in a series of 10 free concerts to be held in Kopernik Park, weather permitting, this summer. Country singer Jessica Lynn will headline next week’s concert on July 14.
