Eastview Mall adds the cutest attraction ever: A baby goat hangout

If you’re shopping at Eastview Mall and need a break, now you can hug a baby goat.

Kaizen Ridge Farm has opened Happy Goat Hangout at Eastview in an 8,000-square-foot space next to the closed Lord & Taylor.

“We have so many sweet little babies right now that we just decided to share them with everybody,” said farm owner Allison Sherman. “We’re going to do some goat snuggling time. You can snuggle or play, and we’re going to do goat yoga.”

Happy Goat Hangout hours and prices

Baby goat snuggling hours are 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Sherman transports the animals daily to and from Eastview — about a 10-minute drive from her farm — in a van. About 15 baby goats are there on weekdays and and as many as 30 (in two shifts) on weekends.

Admission is $20 for ages 6 and older; free for children 5 and younger with a paid adult; $60 for a family of five.

Goat yoga classes are being offered at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and 11:30 a.m. Saturdays. The cost is $30.

The attraction opened Nov. 23. “We had over 100 people come through, and we’re expecting a lot this weekend,” Sherman said, referring to the official start of the holiday shopping season.

Happy Goat Hangout gift certificates available

Speaking of which, the business is selling $20 gift certificates that can be used toward open goat playtime or goat yoga. They also will be redeemable at the farm, which is at 1675 Brace Road in Victor, when it reopens for events in the spring. For more, go to the farm’s Facebook page.

Happy Goat Hangout ends in January

Happy Goat Hangout at Eastview will run through the end of January, Sherman said.

Because goats are known to relieve themselves wherever and whenever, Sherman has employees assigned to each pen set up in the space, and their only job is to clean up after the animals.

“They keep it very clean,” she said. “There’s no smell. The poop’s easy to sweep up.”
