Several websites, including X and Zoom, experienced widespread issues due to a Cloudflare outage on Monday, Nov. 18 — though the company says a partial fix has now been deployed.
The internet infrastructure platform, which many websites rely on to improve performance and security, reported it was “experiencing an internal service degradation” just before 7 a.m. Monday.
In a statement to USA TODAY around 8:30 a.m. EST, Cloudflare said it “saw a spike in unusual traffic” to one of its services around 6:20 a.m., triggering errors across parts of its network.
“That caused some traffic passing through Cloudflare’s network to experience errors. We do not yet know the cause of the spike in unusual traffic. We are all hands on deck to make sure all traffic is served without errors. After that, we will turn our attention to investigating the cause of the unusual spike in traffic,” the statement said. Here’s the latest.
