The Mall at Greece Ridge has a new children’s entertainment center.
The Fun House, which opened Aug. 4, is owned by Foluso Odeyale, 39, of Henrietta.
Originally from Nigeria and a clinical data manager, he said he had wanted to start his own business for a while and after visiting children’s entertainment centers in other markets with his young family, believed there was a need here.
The attraction, which is inside Entrance 9 and across from Ulta Beauty, is divided into three sections: a play area including slides and ball pit, a game arcade and ride rentals.
Hours of operation are 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday; and 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Admission to the play area portion is $12 per half hour or $20 per hour. It’s meant for children 3 to 11, who have to remove their shoes before entering.
Each of the arcade games requires two tokens, which are $1 apiece.
Renting a battery-powered ride that looks like a motorbike or a stuffed animal costs $10 for 10 minutes. The rides aren’t driven in the store but in the mall corridor outside it.
The animal rides are appropriate for ages 4 and older, Odeyale said. The motorbike-style rides are meant for ages 6 and older. There’s enough room on all the rides for parents or guardians to accompany kids if they choose.
The Fun House also hosts birthday parties. The cost for a two-hour party is $250 for 10 people and $400 for 20.
The business is not part of a chain — it is Odeyale’s own. Asked why he settled on the Greece location, he said he loves the town and stops by the mall often with his wife, Tosin, who is a nurse, their son Ayomide, 9, and their daughter, Olamide 3.
“We’ve been coming here for a long time,” said Odeyale, who still is working part time as a clinical data manager but hopes to go full-time soon at The Fun House.
