Tampa Bay will try to buck the trend.
The Buccaneers have never won a game in Buffalo.
Tampa Bay is 0-3 all-time against the Bills in Orchard Park, with losses in 2009, 2017 and 2023 despite leding the overall series 8-5.
The first eight meetings between the teams were all played in Tampa from 1976 to 2005, and 10 of the 13 total matchups have taken place in Florida.
Buffalo won the most recent regular season meeting, a 24-18 victory on Oct. 26, 2023, on Thursday Night Football. Josh Allen threw for 324 yards and two touchdowns, while the Baker Mayfield’s last-second Hail Marry fell to the ground untouched in the end zone to seal the win.
The teams also played in the 2025 preseason, a rarity on the NFL schedule to see a team in the same preseason and regular season. Buffalo quarterback Shane Buechele, who is currently on Bills practice squad, threw for 278 yards and a touchdown, Frank Gore Jr. rushed for a touchdown and kicker Tyler Bass went 3-for-4 on field goal attempts before landing on injured reserve. Allen and Mayfield didn’t play.
The Bills and Buccaneers also met in the 2024 preseason in Tampa Bay, where quarterback Shane Buechele — now on Buffalo’s practice squad — threw for 278 yards and a touchdown.
The Bills (6-3) host the Buccaneers (6-3) at 1 p.m. on Sunday with both teams coming off a loss.
