Cook is accused of intentionally crashing his vehicle at a high rate of speed on wet roads “with intent to cause serious physical injury to the victim, who was a passenger in the vehicle,” according to the sheriff’s office. Both Cook and his passenger were injured in the crash, were treated at area hospitals and released.

The vehicle drove through two yards, a pool, a porch and caused “excessive damage to property and structures on these residences,” deputies said.

An order of protection was issued for the passenger, deputies said.

Cook was taken to the Ontario County Jail ahead of a CAP Court appearance. He is expected to further answer the charge in Phelps Town Court at a later date.

Further details were not released.
