The Binghamton area’s first significant snowstorm of the season caused closings across the county on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
National Weather Service Binghamton issued a winter weather advisory for Broome and surrounding counties that began at 2 a.m. Dec. 2 and remains in effect until 6 p.m. Dec. 2.
NWS Binghamton meteorologist Kaitlyn Lardeo said the snowfall is expected to continue until around 2 p.m., when it will then taper off. By the evening of Dec. 2, Lardeo said the snowfall should be mostly over.
Binghamton’s valley is anticipated to get a total of around four to six inches of snow, Lardeo said, while the higher elevated parts of Binghamton will get up to eight inches.
